PRP's Event Monitor Service Information
A monitor which detects and records your heart rate and rhythm whilst you are experiencing symptoms.
Preparation
No preparation/list of medication
What happens during the procedure
You will be fitted with a monitor which you may keep for up to several weeks. The nurse will instruct you on how to use the monitor including removing for showering and recording and sending events.
How long does it take?
Approximately 20 minutes to have the monitor fitted and explained to you.
After your examination
You may resume your usual activities and press the button to record events.
Your images and report
After your examination, the most pertinent images from your study will be available on the myPRP patient portal. A report, along with the images will be sent directly to your referring doctor. PRP will store digital copies of all studies on our secure database for comparison with any future examinations.
Please bring any previous X-rays with you.
It is important that you return to your doctor with your examination results. Whether they are normal or abnormal, your doctor needs to know promptly so that a management plan can be formulated
